The tuning of the main circuit fuel flow curve
is vastly simpler than in a booster style carburetor. The unique
design of the main jet gives a flat fuel curve through all air
flow ranges of operation. Dyno tests have shown instant flat fuel
curves at whatever ratio you select it to be. There is no need
to understand complex emulsion well tapers and air bleed influences
or other difficult concepts, you simply select a larger jet for
more fuel flow. The main jet system is also seperated from the
transfer system, so altering the main jet size has no influence
on the idle and transfer fuel quality.
FUEL BOWL
Another common problem in conventional carburetors is aeration
of the fuel prior to entering the main jet. When the main jet
draws in air instead of fuel the mixture is altered for a short
period of time. The QuickChange carby has a unique bowl design
that eliminates fuel frothing in the bowl and entering the jets.
The bowl also flows much more fuel than a conventional bowl and
fuel flow is independent of the needle and seat window alignment.
Fuel pressure handling limits are increased and fuel cannot splash
into the vent
Any Fuel
You can change from petrol to methanol by simply undoing one
bolt, changing the top assembly and re-tightening, a process that
requires a total teardown of conventional carburetors. The QuickChange
carburetor is suitable for use with any liquid fuel and is very
simply and easily converted.
FUEL VAPORISATION
The design of the QuickChange carburetor main jet allows for
altering the droplet size to suit individual applications. Controlling
the droplet size influences an engines ability to makepower at
high revs. The emitter orifices of the QuickChange carb's main
jet delivers a finely atomised fuel fog to the induction system.
This distributes more evenly and ignites more readily than larger
fuel droplets. Dyno tests have also shown a vast improvement to
the balance of individual cylinder exhaust temperatures.
R&D
These unique 6 barrel carbs were developed to fill a need. Our
larger "Dominator" style 'Pro' carbs will be be available soon.
We will continue to test on race engines like "Blackjack". Blackjack
is the current national record holder for SS/A. Contact us for
more information on our "Race" and "Pro" carby
range.
Not an overnight success....
Bruce "The Shrinker" Robertson has been developing and
testing QuickChange carburetors on a variety of race cars for the
last 7 years. Bruce was not prepared to accept the compromise of
existing design limitations, therefore his frustration led to the
development of a superior product. He has also spent years working
on all forms of carbs and fuel systems for many types of racing.
Bruce would arguably be one of the most knowledgable people in Australia
when it comes to fuel systems
