Strong Entry for speedway
More than 60 cars have entered for Sunday's first bitumen
speedway meeting at the Adelaide International Raceway.
Racing will be run on the banked oval part of the track.
It will be SA's first bitumen speedway racing. The track is the longest
of its type in Australia.
A highlight will be an interstate challenge between SA's Phil Herreen,
Zeke Agars and Alan Jones and NSW's Jeff Pickering (who will drive
a US-made car), and Wayne Fisher.
Several new production sedans including two V8 Monaros have been prepared
for the meeting, which will start at 1 PM.
The meeting was a great success for Phil. The weather
was good and a lot of people turned up. Phil went extra well with
3 firsts and 1 second. Top point scorer for the day and he won a couple
of trophies
