Peter Denton Racing History Australian Title
Bagot NT Racing Current restored car

Peter Denton has been racing for many years and still can be seen driving his restored Super Modified car in spirited races throughout the country. The following pages contain some of the memorabilia collected over the years by Peter.

PETER DENTON has been named "Ace" by his close friends, but could well be known as the "wandering modified man". In the five years he has been competing, Peter has raced in Victoria and twice in Darwin and will race in the Northern Territory again this year (June 14 and 21) during the Darwin Centenary Year Festival. "Ace" bought his first car from Terry Furnell, while his last two modifieds were built by "Zeke" Agars. His present red and white Goldsworthy Corvette is extremely popular with Rowley Park crowds and though "Ace" is quiet in himself, once behind the wheel he becomes a man obsessed.

Super modified racing in Adelaide would be among the most furious in Australia and to hit the top in the big league as "Ace" has done, then stay there, takes a lot of time, money and dedication to the sport. Peter's engine is not sponsored, and he pays all the bills himself. But mention a super modified race and "Ace" Denton, the "Jim Bean King" will be there if he can find the time.

Peter was the top point scorer for super modifieds at Rowley Park during the summer season and now has the right to carry No. 1 for the next 12 months. In conclusion: These four great stars of the high flying super modifieds are among the top men in the country, yet some people still neglect to name them in their top ratings. One or two tracks have also run "Australian Super Modified Championships" without inviting Skipper, Denton, Herreen and Agars. Yet any one of them would venture almost anywhere if a reasonable offer was made.
