Tim Nielsen at Sydney March 05

Blackjack records launch G forces of 2.45 g's with 60' times of 1.153 sec. 50 mph takes 1.000 seconds and 100 mph is 2.855 secs. We use a 3 step rev limit control to manage the wheel speed in the burnout and keep the launch and engine revs safe during the run.

We use Hoosier D05 tyres exclusively as we have tested all the others and these are incredible. The rubber grip is good throughout the life of the tire and we achieve even wear and thrust lines across the tire. We purchase our tires from Max Dumnsey in Sydney for the freshest rubber.

We always use VP fuel because of the consistency and the technical support we receive. Currently we burn C14+.

We use 2 independent data loggers on the car, the main one measures rpm, rear wheel speed, converter slip, 8 exhaust temperatures, G-force, rear suspension movement and exhaust air fuel ratio. The secondary data logger measures RPM and oil pressure and is a dedicated AFR unit with some spare channels to play with later on. It uses flash memory and can store 44 minutes of data so it serves as a good backup.
